Sexual Assault Services

Crisis Intervention and Advocacy are available to survivors of stranger and non-stranger sexual assault on a walk-in basis between 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Monday through Friday at our office located at 204 Patrick St. Mount Pleasant, TX 75455 and by the agency's 24 hour hotline, 7 days a week. SAFE-T accompanies the survivors to hospitals, law enforcement offices, prosecutors' offices and courts.

 

REDUCE THE RISK OF SEXUAL ASSAULT

  • Always carry money for a phone or taxi.

  • Know the exact plans for a date and your expected time of return, then inform a parent, roommate or friend.

  • Your ability to react under the influence of alcohol or drugs is reduced.

  • NEVER let a stranger bring you a drink, or leave your drink unattended.

IF YOU HAVE EVER BEEN SEXUALLY ASSAULTED

  • You have the right to a Sexual Assault Exam.

  • Do not shower or bathe before the exam.

  • Do not wash your clothes before the exam.

  • Call Law Enforcement or go to the Hospital Emergency Room as soon as possible.

  • ​You may be eligible for Crime Victim Compensation from the office of the Attorney General of Texas.
