Sexual Assault is a crime of violence
-
DO NOT take a shower or bath or change clothes, go straight to the hospital. Do not rinse your mouth. You are a survivor of a crime, and you may feel effects after an assualt: You may question your ability to judge character, blame yourself for what happened, fear others will blame you, fear of retaliation, fear of loss of control over your life, fear of being alone, or future problems with an intimate relationship. Remember what happened is not your fault. It does not matter if you had sex with that person before, or if that person spent a lot of money on you, or what you were wearing, or where you were. Sexual assault can happen to anyone, anywhere, anytime. It is not your fault!
